I'm torn on how many stars to give this place... the food was good, but a buffet takes patience that I just don't have. I get overwhelmed by the lines and people and extremely grossed out by people licking their fingers after they serve themselves, which I did see done here once. In fact, that may have been when I stopped eating. The beef at the carving station was amazingly tender with 3 yummy sauces, well, we only tried two, but there were 3 options. I can safely assume all three were good, since I really liked two. I had the red wine sauce and my husband got the one they have in the bigger pan, I liked mine better. The main grill area where area you can only order 1 item at a time was good as well, but it takes some patience to keep getting in line. I had the scallop, cooked oyster and bone marrow. I wouldn't do the oyster again, but the other two were delicious. Having a table of 6, the group got many of the options and they really liked most of them. The cheese selection is amazing but the lines are soooo long. I love foie gras but I didn't wait in that line either. Grabbed a few raw oysters, which were good, because they were at the end of the line and easy to sneak in and grab. My husband loved the crab legs, they were strangely easy to open, he said. I got a yummy mustard sauce in this area that also went well with my beef. There were buffet stations that were never empty, but I didn't really grab more than mushrooms from there. Some friends got mussels with a cheese sauce in that area that were just ok, I tried one. I'm not a person to overstuff myself to "get my money's worth" so I didn't overeat. I had enough food. I was full at the end. I did grab a few desserts, they were bite size and good. The merengues were delicious. There was a cheese cake that was good. Luckily someone had taken a half slice so I took the other half. The chocolate mousse was very chocolaty. We ordered coffee at the end. Service was 5 stars!! Our server always took the dirty plates away while the person went up for more food. Someone always stayed at the table to ensure our belongings were safe. The €25 champagne was great. They had a deal if you bought 6 they would give you one free. While we were 6 people, we didn't drink that much. We had two cars, two drivers. Each bottle came with a sparkler, which was cute. I would give the food 4 stars. The ambiance 3 stars. While it was a great experience, glad we were invited, I don't think I would go back to Les Grands Buffets. I will come back to Narbonne! It's a super cute area. If friends want to go to the buffet, we'll join them for the trip, and. we'll enjoy the town and other restaurants next time.

Came here on Thanksgiving day without a reservation and was extremely lucky . I was initially turned away, but waited around and begged and pleaded because I believed that there had to be a cancellation and or group who didn't have a full party come at the time . I was only one person in which helped me get in but it was a close call as it was fully packed . I waited an hour biting my nails to see if someone wouldn't show up and I got in just before the last service which is at 9:15 pm . The restaurant by the way closes at midnight but they start putting away food around 10:30 pm and the made to order stations ( hot food , crepes and ice cream bar closes around 10:50 pm /11pm ) . When I was told there was a place I felt like I hit the lotto honestly . I was told many times by people who work there that I was extremely lucky. when I entered the restaurant I was told congratulations in French ! Ha ! The atmosphere of the buffet is extremely classy ! Simply gorgeous ! There's even a fire place for God's sake ! Customer service was a 12 / 10 . Honestly the best customer service I had received so far in France . Honestly with the prices it's almost a budget Buffet but you are treated like you are dining at a world class restaurant. The food quality wasn't the best but it wasn't bad either as another yelper pointed out . Honestly, it's on par with the quality that you expect at any other buffet except that this place has much fancier options and the ambience is the nicest buffet you will ever have a chance to dine in . Also the fact that you could pretty much just eat lobster and caviar the entire time without a time limit is worth it . Honestly, I would give the food I had about a 6.9/7 out of 10 . Desserts were slightly better at a 8.1/10. The steak I had at the fresh carving station was one of the best hot items I had and it was actually a rare cut which says a lot ( 8.9 /10 ) . My favorite as far as desserts go was the fresh strawberries with the chocolate fondue station ( they have three types of chocolate sauces to choose from and were all delicious ) . I also love the ice cream bar . I loved the coconut ice cream that was served in a fabricated coconut shell and the canelle I had . The only thing I regret is ordering a cappuccino to finish off the meal as it wasn't that great, and I was also already extremely full . Honestly, definitely worth the visit if you can get a reservation . Please prepare and plan in advance . Reservations open one year before the date you want to dine !

This is the most amazing all-you-can-eat buffet in Europe (if not the world), with exceptional chefs preparing absolutely delicious French dishes: both at the Bistro level, and from Haute Cuisine. There's roasting meats, fresh shellfish, kettles of soups, and chafing dish after chafing dish of other French specialties being prepared in open kitchens right before your eyes. With a Spanish Jamon carving table (displaying at least three high grade Serrano and Ibérico hams), an order-ready crepe station, 100 types of gourmet cheeses (as if this were an artisan cheese shop), as well as freshly made desserts and patisseries having nearly a full room devoted just to them, this place is calorie heaven. But before you "Jack-Up" on cakes and tarts, make sure to hit the lobster-tower, the Raw Bar, the sauté station, the escargot table, and the charcuterie board, just to start you off. Needless to say, this is not your typical higher level Las Vegas or Cruise Ship buffet; even the best of them. It's more like six top tier French Restaurants in Paris made everything on their menus available for you to savor until you can't eat another delicious bite. And almost best of all is the made to order Chef's Menu of half a dozen gourmet dishes or more. Merely select your dish from the multi language menu and it will be prepared for you "tout suite", plated like a Michelin Star Restaurant would plate it. This option alone is worth more than the forty-eight or so US Dollars that the buffet costs, because you're allowed to order dish after dish after dish, as if you were dining in a fine restaurant with an endless budget. And if all you really want to do is pay your $48 and then eat $225 worth of food, just hover over the Foie Gras and the caviar tables with a big spoon before raiding the lobster tower, the crab trays, and the carpaccio & oyster bars. Just pile the food up onto as many plates as your arms can hold and tell the management that you haven't eaten in a month. Honestly, I don't know how this place even comes close to breaking even. There was SO MUCH High-End food here that we actually thought about coming back two days in a row just to try everything. However, I think it would take three days; at least. So if you are only here once, and you don't have two stomachs, make sure to save a little room in the one you've got for the pastries and the beautiful white ice-cream and gelato room where frozen specialty creations await. Situated in the picturesque city of Narbonne in southwest France, Les Grands Buffets is well worth the four hour highspeed rail ride down from Paris and a night in a hotel (to facilitate your food-coma). And if you are truly an avid "Foody" then hop back on the train the next morning and head a mere hour or so further southwest into Spain, for the culinary adventure of a lifetime in San Sabastian, where Hemingway learned to bullfight, and which offers some of the best Seafood and Tapas in the world. "Bon appétit"

OMG. OMG. Let's just first put out there - over 75 different cheeses. 75 cheeses. Over 150 french pastries. 150 pastries. Plus a gelato bar, a hot french food buffet, and an entire charcuterie, foie gras, and seafood selection to make your head spin. Don't get me wrong - It's not a little french bistro and yes, I'm sure some of the food is less than great quality, but to get all of your French food fix in one place with wine at 3 - 6 euro a glass???!?!?!?! Thank you food gods for your bounty.
